Youth friendly health promotion clinic had organized a lecture on first aids for the student of Art and Design School on February 19, 2019. Sawsan Hammad, who is the chairperson of the clinic, presents a demonstration for the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and chocking based on the recommendation of the American Heart Association. Two nursing students Bayan and Aseel explained the first aids skills for fracture, convulsion, burn, bleeding and snake bite and scorpion bite. Hammad discussed the role of the university students as bystanders in performing the first aids particularly CPR. The lecture was held at the School of Art and Design (auditorium 2) from 9 am to 12 MD and around 100 students attended the lecture.

Youth friendly health promotion clinic had organized a lecture on nicotine addiction for the student of the University of Jordan on February 28, 2019. A lecturer from the school of pharmacy -Haya Yaseen- presented a full explanation of nicotine addiction. The lecturer explained the pathophysiology of nicotine addiction which is based on the fact that nicotine increases the release of dopamine. In its turn, dopamine affects the reward center in the brain and thus stimulates substance dependence. Later, the smokers use nicotine to avoid experiencing the withdrawal symptom such as headache, intense cravings for nicotine, difficulty concentration, nausea and vomiting, sleep disturbances, and weight gain. The lecture was held at the deanship of students’ affairs (small auditorium) from 10 am to 12 MD and around 40 students attended the lecture.

Youth friendly clinic had organized an educational sessions at the school of educational sciences in the presence of Dr- Manar al Nabulsi ( the dean of the school of nursing), Dr Saleh Al Rawadia (the dean of the school of educational sciences) and Dr Abeer Shaheen (the head of the community department at the school of nursing).

The chairperson of the clinic Sawsan Hammad opened the session at 10 AM of March 18, 2019. The objectives of the session were to upgrade the awareness of the school students about the importance of vitamin D, B12, and Iron.  Students from the school of nursing present the symptom of these minerals deficiency and the most available food resource. Besides, menstrual disturbances were discussed with a group of female students and some cases were referred to the university clinic for further follow up.
