Brazilian Federal Council Of Nursing Delegation Visits UJ

​A delegation from the Brazilian Federal Council of Nursing (COFEN) visited the School of Nursing at the University of Jordan (UJ), accompanied by officials from the Brazilian Embassy in Amman with an aim to familiarize themselves with the educational programs and professional opportunities offered to nursing students.

During the visit, Dean of the School of Nursing Prof. Areej Othman briefed the delegation about the School and its programs, particularly the PhD program, which is the only PhD program in Nursing in Jordan.

Othman also pointed out that the nursing practice in Jordan is divided into three levels based on years of study and professional experience: nursing assistant, registered nurse, and specialized nurse.

She mentioned that the School of Nursing ranks 101-150 globally according to the QS Subject 2023 ranking, adding that four of its faculty members are listed among the top 2% scientists worldwide for the year 2022 by Stanford University.

The delegation expressed their delight with this visit, during which they also toured UJ hospital to explore the nursing services provided in its various departments, expressing their eagerness to exchange knowledge and expertise in this field.

Established in 1973, the Brazilian Federal Council of Nursing (COFEN) is the responsible entity for regulating and supervising the practice of nurses, technicians, and nursing assistants in Brazil, ensuring the quality of nursing services provided, and compliance with the Professional Nursing Practice Law in the country.
