The University of Jordan continues to highlight its distinguished presence in global rankings; the 2024 Shanghai Global Rankings of Academic Subjects have shown the university's excellence in four academic disciplines.The University of Jordan ranked in the fields of Dentistry and Nursing in the category (201-300), while it was classified in Mathematics in the category (301-400), and in Education in the category (401-500).The university president, Dr. Natheer Obeidat, expressed his pride in the progress the university has made in global rankings, noting that this achievement is a result of the university's ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of education and scientific research, as well as its innovative policies focused on supporting academic competencies, developing research infrastructure, and expanding international cooperation with prestigious institutions and universities.The Shanghai Ranking is considered one of the most prestigious rankings worldwide, relying on a set of objective academic indicators and independent data to measure the performance of universities globally across various disciplines. These indicators include major categories such as prestigious international academic awards, highly cited researchers, chief editors of international academic journals, and leaders of international academic organizations. It also encompasses published research in top journals, research published in Q1 journals, research impact measured by citation rates, and collaboration with international researchers.
