There were two panel discussions in two campuses, Citrus campus and Ocala Campus. Panel Discussions were opened to students, staff, faculty and members of the public. The title of the presentation was: “Global Migrant Crisis: Challenges and Solutions, The Jordanian Historical Experience.”

There was also another presentation titled: “Jordan and Research Experience as a Fulbright Research Scholar”, this was attended by the college students. It was an occasion to introduce students to Jordan, the Jordanian history, culture, the Fulbright Scholarship, and the research project.

Dr. Safadi was also invited by the University of St. Bonaventure in Olean, New York, as part of the Women’s Studies Program in celebration of Women’s Day. Besides her research and lecturing activities, Dr. Safadi took the opportunity of her stay in the U.S. to attend the 2015 Lamaze International conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, from September 16-20, 2015 where she attended two workshops and several presentations about Lamaze childbirth education, and thus, obtained continuing education hours for the purpose of certification as a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE).

To become a certified educator, it was necessary to complete hours of training by attending a three-days seminar (October, 21, 22, 23, 2016) in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia, and sitting for a certification exam on the 14th of April, 2016. Lamaze International is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. It is also a provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing. The Fulbright journey was ended by attending the Baltimore Fulbright Enrichment Seminar. This activity involved attending a three-day seminar conducted by the U.S Fulbright Office in Baltimore, Maryland, between April 19-21.

Thanks to the University of Jordan for granting me an unpaid leave to complete this Fulbright Scholarship Award project, and to the University of Pittsburgh/ PA, for offering the facilities and opportunity to be a scholar on their campus.
