Teachers exchange between the University of Jordan/University of Gothenburg

 
 
Dr. Mahmoud Maharmeh, the nursing faculty, returned from an official visit to the University of Gothenburg (UG) in Sweden. The visit is part of the International Collaboration Agreement between the two universities, which includes cultural and educational exchange activities for both faculty and students.

During his visit, which lasted three weeks, Dr. Maharmeh met the Dean of the College of Nursing at Gothenburg and professors of different academic specialties, where they had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and share experiences especially in the field of nursing education and practices, and about the cultures at both countries as well.

Dr. Maharmeh, and in collaboration with the faculty at the UG, organized several activities in order to promote cultural and intellectual exchanges between members from both universities, to mention few of these activities, Dr.Maharmeah:
  1. Introduced aspects about the nursing education in Jordan, including these at the University of Jordan, to interested audience from UG.
  2. Participated in providing several interactive lectures on specialized nursing to the nursing students at UG.
  3. Made filed visits to few health care institutions in the city of Gothenburg to learn about the services offered and to learn about aspects of the nursing care there.
  4. Met with experienced researchers from UG and discussed ways of networking and research collaboration between experts with common research interests from both universities.
  5. Introduced aspects about the situation of the Syrian refugees in Jordan to interested audience from UG.

Dr. Maharmeh expressed his gratitude for the hospitality that he had received at UG and his deepest appreciation for the rich intellectual experience that he gained through this visit.
He also highly regarded the importance of similar visits in developing the educational and intellectual assets of the faculty members from both universities at both the theoretical and the practical levels.
